Are you a recent graduate with a passion for sport, outdoor learning and working with young people? We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic Graduate Sports and Outdoor Learning Assistant to join our thriving Junior School community on a fixed-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone considering a future career in teaching, coaching or outdoor education. You will gain rich, hands-on experience working alongside experienced educators in a supportive and forward-thinking school, helping to shape positive and memorable experiences for pupils from Reception to Year 6.
About the roleYou will play a key part in delivering an engaging and varied programme of sport and outdoor learning, supporting pupils to develop confidence, teamwork and a love of physical activity. Your role will include:
- Supporting the delivery of PE lessons and Outdoor Learning sessions across the Junior School
- Working alongside experienced teaching staff to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons
- Leading and supporting small groups in PE, games and specialist activities
- Assisting with, and where appropriate leading, co-curricular sport including lunchtime and after-school clubs
- Supporting after-school swim squad training and accompanying pupils to galas
- Coaching and supporting school sports teams, including attending midweek fixtures and occasional weekend events
We are looking for someone who brings energy, positivity and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. You will be a strong team player, keen to learn and ready to contribute across a wide range of activities. You will ideally:
- Be confident coaching at least one of the following sports: Netball, Football, Cricket, Swimming or Athletics
- Have a willingness to get involved across a broad sporting and outdoor programme
- Be flexible, proactive and collaborative in your approach
- Be keen to develop your skills and experience within a school environment
