What you'll be doing:

  • Take ownership of delivering accurate and insightful financial information, including monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term planning.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to help them better understand their budgets, challenge assumptions and make informed decisions.
  • Present financial information in a way that is accessible, engaging and useful to non‑finance colleagues.
  • Support core accounting activities, ensuring strong controls, accurate reconciliations, and well‑managed ledgers, while contributing to the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns and audit processes.
  • Improve systems and processes – use advanced Excel skills to automate reporting, enhance data quality and drive efficiencies across the finance function.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across both management and statutory accounting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a proven ability to build financial models that support decision‑making and scenario planning.
  • Analytical, curious and solutions‑focused mindset, confident to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative, able to explain financial concepts clearly and add value beyond the numbers.
  • Experience in the education or charity sector is an advantage but not essential.
