We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Lead Practitioner in English with responsibility for whole school literacy. This is a key role for a highly effective classroom practitioner who is passionate about improving the quality of teaching and ensuring that every student can read, write and communicate with confidence.
The successful candidate will lead the development of a coherent, ambitious literacy strategy across the Academy, ensuring that literacy is embedded consistently in every subject and every classroom. You will work closely with the Head of English and senior leaders to drive improvements in teaching, learning and outcomes, with a particular focus on supporting disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND to access the full curriculum.
As a Lead Practitioner, your primary focus will be on expert teaching and developing others. You will model excellent practice, support colleagues through coaching and professional development, and ensure that high-quality literacy strategies are understood and consistently applied across the Academy.
This role is central to our ambition that all students at Haberdashers’ Knights Academy become confident readers, articulate communicators and successful learners, fully equipped for the next stage of their education and beyond.
