Role description: To support growth in our engineering team, we are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (with electrical bias) to work at our production site in Bingley, West Yorkshire. Habasit is a world-leading manufacturer of conveyor and power transmission systems, and the belts we make in Bingley are shipped all over the world to customers from a variety of industries. Our on-site engineering team work hard to ensure that breakdowns are rare and are addressed promptly, and that scheduled maintenance can be carried out with limited impact on production.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve a wide range of mechanical and electrical faults in a hands-on maintenance role
- Respond to breakdowns safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime
- Manage external contractors on-site and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Contribute to scheduled maintenance and project work across the facility
- Work at height and handle heavy loads using appropriate tools and safety measures
- Source and order parts/tools with a focus on cost-effectiveness and sustainability
What we look for
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment
- Level 3 or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in all tasks
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments (e.g. production, planning, warehouse)
- Initiative to research and solve technical challenges independently
- Health & Safety qualification (desirable but not essential)
What we offer
- Competitive base salary with generous uplifts for shift work, overtime, and on-call duties

- Full-time, permanent position with structured rota:
- Early shift: 6:00–14:00 (five days)
- Late shift: 12:00–22:00 (four days)
- Saturday mornings paid at 1.5x rate (2x for over 4 hours during busy periods)
