Our award-winning law firm is expanding its specialist Domestic Abuse Department due to continued growth and increasing demand. We are now seeking a dedicated and compassionate experienced Paralegal to join us at an important stage in our journey.

THE OPPORTUNITY
- Taking initial client instructions using a trauma-informed and empathetic approach
- Preparing and drafting urgent court applications, including Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders
- Drafting witness statements, chronologies, and supporting evidence
- Managing legal aid funded matters, including emergency funding applications
- Liaising with courts, police, support workers, and interpreters
- Attending court hearings with counsel or solicitors when required
- Maintaining accurate case files in line with Legal Aid Agency and regulatory requirements
- Providing regular updates and reassurance to clients throughout proceedings
- Supporting solicitors with case progression and administrative tasks
ABOUT YOU:
You are a calm, organised, and empathetic Paralegal who thrives in a role where professionalism and compassion go hand in hand. You are confident managing sensitive cases and committed to supporting vulnerable clients.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
- Experience in legal aid-funded family law, particularly domestic abuse matters
- Strong working knowledge of CCMS and Legal Aid Agency procedures
- Experience managing your own domestic abuse caseload from start to finish
- Excellent drafting, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage urgent deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong case management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
DESIRABLE:
Ability to speak additional languages will be advantageous.
