General Summary: This role reports to the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee and is based in Banbury, UK. The Manager/Team Leader delivers departmental objectives by overseeing day‑to‑day operations, leading and developing team members, and ensuring high‑quality, efficient service delivery. The role requires strong cross‑functional collaboration, performance monitoring, continuous improvement, implementation of policies and procedures, and regular communication with senior leadership, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship of personnel within the RTS mechanics group; directing and coaching team members to maximize the department’s performance and oversee daily activities.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Liaise and distribute information to various departments in an accurate manner, whilst ensuring tight deadlines are adhered to.
  • Report reliability issues as they occur and seek advice before undertaking any out of the ordinary tasks.
  • Responsibility for the cleanliness and condition of your work area.
  • Following Engineering procedures and protocols as dictated by the Haas F1 Team pertaining to assembly, operation, and safety.
  • Follow Lifing and UIIL requirements to ensure full compliance is met in line with the regulations.
  • Assist and support chosen departments to facilitate Turnarounds, Engineering Projects, Car Builds and Event Support.

  • Support the implementation of departmental strategies in line with organisational goals.
  • Lead team-level initiatives and contribute to cross-functional projects that promote continuous improvement.
  • Provide input into policy and process development, sharing insights from frontline operations.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum 4 years of work experience in a similar mechanical role or motorsport environment (preferably Formula 1).
  • Proven leadership in high‑pressure, performance‑driven environments.
