General Summary: This position reports to the Design Team Leader or their designee; it is located in Maranello, Italy. The role involves designing F1 chassis-related components and mechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork and effective communication to develop strong working relationships across all personnel and departments.
- Design of F1 chassis components and mechanical assemblies.
- Study and design components using solid modeling, surface modeling, and 2D drawing to achieve high-performance, reliable solutions, and optimized sizing.
- Components include suspensions, wheels, hydraulic, fuel, and cooling systems, as well as equipment for car homologation and on-track management (e.g., legality checks, pit stop equipment).
- Manage design mock-up activities within the design office.
- Follow all safety regulations at all venues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Team Leader or their designee.
Education and Work Experience:
- GCSE, High School diploma, or equivalent required.
- Further education, including a Mechanical Engineering degree, is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in a professional motorsports environment or F1 companies.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent understanding of English.
- Strong technical background in racing cars.
- Ability to work to high standards under stressful and time-sensitive conditions.
- Quick decision-making skills, approaching problems scientifically and analytically.

- Proficiency in SolidWorks (preferably CATIA), Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.

- Ability to follow complex regulations related to material shipment and facility maintenance.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Must be able to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including weekends, is expected.
- Position may involve lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive bending, squatting, manual dexterity, and working around machinery, race cars, rigs, debris, and hazardous fluids.
