This position reports to the Head of Composite Design or their designee; is located in Maranello, Italy. Collaborates in planning and strategy of component development and race introduction.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
- Design and development of F1 Car components.
- Seek continuous improvement in the design of components with prime focus on car performance.
- Contribute to composite design group workload plans in consultation with business partners.
- Contribute to concept development in relation to composite design.
- Liaise with Race Team concerning reliability and relevant composite design revisions.
- Perform necessary research and development functions.
- Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of Composite Design or their designee.
- GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Further education including Mechanical Engineering University Degree desired.
- 5 years of work experience, which must be in a professional motorsports’ environment with design experiences.
- Some FEA experience is also a plus.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Have an excellent understanding of English language.
- Strong technical background in racing car.
- Excellent organization and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to lead composite design projects from concept to completion.
- Prioritizes and pursues vehicle performance.
- Knowledge of composite and machine shop production processes.
- Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
- Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
- Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some domestic, international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
