2025 sees MoneyGram Haas F1 Team celebrate its tenth season in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. We don’t follow the status quo; we’re here to challenge the competition, and we want you to join us. The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.

We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. At MoneyGram Haas F1 Team – known within the paddock as the ‘family team’ – you’ll be involved in many different areas of the team, have much wider visibility across the business, and will be able to clearly see your contribution to our team.

General Summary: This position reports to the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for the assembly and servicing of the Haas Formula 1 Race Car components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition of your work area.
  • Follow Engineering procedures and protocols as dictated by the Haas F1 Team pertaining to assembly, operation, and safety.
  • Ensure that all Sub Assembled components are consistently built to the highest standards and to the correct build specifications.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and service of all Pit Stop Equipment as well as Off Car Equipment such as Rigs, Set Up Equipment and Tooling.
  • Take responsibility for the build/service and specifications of the team’s race chassis and heritage chassis, in line with the expectations of the Chief Mechanics.
  • Assist and support chosen departments to facilitate Turnarounds, Engineering Projects, Car Builds and Event Support.
  • Report reliability issues as they occur and seek advice before undertaking any out of the ordinary tasks.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the RTS Chief Mechanic or their designee.

Education and Work Experience:

  • 2 years of previous experience in a similar mechanical role within Formula 1, World Sports Cars, or F2 is preferred; demonstrable professionalism and a strong record of service within the motorsport industry are advantageous.
  • GCSE, High School Diploma, or equivalent required. Further education, including Trade School, Apprenticeship or University Degree is desired.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • A comprehensive mechanical understanding gained in Formula 1 motor racing.
  • An ability to read and interpret technical drawings and information pertaining to assembly, periodic updates, and modifications.
  • The ability to consistently work to the highest standards with an exceptional attitude towards attention to detail.
  • Basic fabrication and machining skills.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.
  • Communication skills, ability to work under pressure, self-motivation, time management, conflict resolution, adaptability, willingness to learn.

Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Dev 365 and 3DX.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations related to shipment of materials and facility maintenance requirements.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
