TGR Haas F1 Team competes in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives. We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. At TGR Haas F1 Team, you’ll be involved in many different areas of the team, have much wider visibility across the business, and will be able to clearly see your contribution to our team.

General Summary: This position reports to the Head of Composites Design or their designee; is located in Maranello, Italy. Responsible for delivering weight, quality, compliance and reliability design targets. Supporting the design for both current and future car on all composite related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Design support for a variety of composite components and assemblies.
  • Design studies for the concept stage of the new car design program.
  • Liaise and support the Aero and FE department to achieve quality/compliance/strength/weight targets.
  • Thorough knowledge of composite materials and production techniques.
  • Full knowledge of the F1 technical regulations.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Composites Design or their designee.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Degree in Mechanical engineering with a strong knowledge of composite materials.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience working as a composite design engineer within motorsport.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent understanding of technical regulations.
  • Strong technical background in F1 racing car design.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

Equipment and Applications:

  • Solid computer knowledge, preferred experience in Microsoft Office products and ERP Systems.
  • Must be proficient in the use of CAD system: Catia V5 / V6 3dx.
  • Ability to follow complex regulations.

Work Environment Physical Demands:

  • An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential.
  • The role may require occasional domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.
  • This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity.
  • Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands.
  • Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids.
  • All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
