The Job Role

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated General Manager responsible for all aspects of growing, storage, grading, and trading activities within this agricultural business.

Location:

Northeast Scotland

Salary Package:

£60,000 – £75,000 basic salary plus vehicle (package negotiable for the right candidate).

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a team of five full-time staff and up to twenty agency/temporary staff.
2. Oversee production planning to facilitate early harvest and shipment to export markets.
3. Liaise with landowners to secure suitable land for production targets.
4. Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
5. Plan machinery procurement and replacements.
6. Manage stock and inventory accurately.
7. Oversee facilities management, including 7,000 tonnes of on-site storage and grading capacity.
8. Market seed varieties and ware as necessary.
9. Collaborate with the wider team to meet production and quality targets.

Candidate Requirements

1. Good knowledge of potato agronomy, crop production, and storage is desirable.
2. Understanding of modern machinery.
3. Experience in people management.
4. Seed knowledge and experience.
