The Job Role

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated General Manager responsible for all aspects of growing, storage, grading, and trading activities.

Location

Northeast Scotland

Salary Package

£60,000 – £75,000 Basic Salary + Vehicle (package open to discussion for the right candidate).

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a team of five full-time staff and up to twenty agency/temporary staff.
2. Oversee production planning for early harvest & shipment to export markets.
3. Liaise with landlords to secure land to meet production targets.
4. Assist with annual budgets.
5. Manage machinery procurement and replacement planning.
6. Provide accurate stock and inventory data.
7. Manage facilities with 7,000 tonnes on-site storage & grading capacity.
8. Market seed and ware as necessary.
9. Collaborate with the team to meet production and quality targets.

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of potato agronomy, crop production, and storage is desirable.
• Understanding of modern machinery.
• People management experience.
• Seed knowledge and experience.
