Our expertise includes environmental noise monitoring, residential noise reports, sound insulation testing, and construction noise assessments. This is a full-time hybrid role for an Acoustic Consultant. The position is based in Plymouth, Devon or Saltash, Cornwall with the flexibility to work from home on designated days. The primary responsibilities include:
- Sound insulation testing
- Installing and collecting noise monitoring equipment
- Conducting noise and vibration assessments
- Preparing detailed technical reports
- Collaborating with clients to understand their requirements
- Delivering tailored acoustic solutions
- Site visits and noise monitoring
- Applying relevant standards and regulations
- Contributing to innovative acoustic strategies
Qualifications:
- Sound insulation testing, air tightness testing or other environmental compliance skillsets
- Compliance Testing such as Sound Insulation Testing, Air Tightness Testing or other environmental compliance testing work
- Proficiency in Architectural Acoustics and Vibration Control is essential
- Strong expertise in Acoustic and Environmental Noise Management, including monitoring, evaluation, and mitigation strategies
- Experience in Report Writing, including creating technical and compliance-focused acoustic assessments
- Understanding of relevant UK regulations and standards (e.g., BS4142, BS8233, BS5228)
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficiency in using acoustic measurement equipment and software
- Degree in Acoustics, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Membership or eligibility for membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., IOA) is an advantage
