H9 Talent Solutions are supporting the appointment of an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor for the EPC contractor on a major new build Energy from Waste project based in Essex. This is a long-term contract opportunity working on a high-value industrial infrastructure project during a critical delivery phase.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of mechanical, electrical and piping packages from procurement through to final account, working closely with project delivery and supply chain teams on-site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial management of MEP packages across the project lifecycle
  • Preparation, review and administration of subcontract agreements
  • Measurement, valuation and cost reporting of mechanical and electrical works
  • Assessment and agreement of variations, change orders and compensation events
  • Supporting procurement activities including tender analysis and package awards
  • Preparation and submission of applications for payment
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance, valuations and final accounts
  • Cost forecasting, budgeting and risk management
  • Supporting project controls and reporting functions
  • Liaising with engineering, construction and planning teams to ensure commercial alignment
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project procedures
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor within major industrial, energy, infrastructure or process engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical installations on complex construction projects and building services
  • Previous experience working on Energy from Waste, power generation, heavy industrial or similar large-scale projects is highly desirable
  • Good knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC forms of contract
  • Ability to manage subcontract packages independently
  • Strong commercial reporting and cost management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capability
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred
