Overview
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager – South Manchester – Up to £68,500 – Permanent | Full-Time
Be the driving force behind safety, sustainability & global impact. We\’re partnering with an ambitious, rapidly expanding organisation launching a brand-new facility in Manchester, and they\’re on the hunt for an experienced HSE Manager to lead the charge. This role involves shaping and delivering the entire health, safety, and environmental function from the ground up, with future opportunities to support operations across the US and globally.
Responsibilities
- Health & Safety – Own the HSE strategy across the new site, embedding a proactive safety culture
- Deliver site risk assessments, fire risk evaluations, COSHH and method statements
- Lead investigations, reporting, and follow-ups for incidents and RIDDOR cases
- Chair safety meetings, manage safety equipment and maintain best-in-class standards
- Environmental – Shape and deliver the company\’s environmental compliance roadmap
- Spearhead waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives
- Conduct impact assessments and work toward ISO 14001 certification
- Inspire environmental awareness and responsible site-wide behaviour
What You\\\’ll Bring
- Proven background in HSE across manufacturing and warehousing
- Knowledge of MRP, Lean, Six Sigma and fast-paced production principles
- Confident stakeholder engagement skills – influence at all levels
- Solid understanding of ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards
- NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent) and comfortable working independently
