Salary: £47,239 per annum + annual bonus scheme

About the Role

H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join a dynamic and experienced team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all EC&I equipment at a modern Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), while also offering technical support across disciplines. You will play a key part in ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all environmental regulations. Your work will directly contribute to plant reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fault diagnostics and corrective/reactive maintenance on EC&I systems and equipment.
  • Deliver improvement projects that enhance plant reliability and reduce operational costs.
  • Ensure maintenance plans and targets are met safely and economically.
  • Support and liaise with other engineering disciplines and contractors as required.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work are in place.
  • Participate in an on-call rota to provide coverage for breakdowns during normal hours and out-of-hours (including weekends, nights, and bank holidays).

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in EC&I engineering within a process or manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent).
  • Competency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret instrument loop drawings and P&IDs.
  • Clear and effective communication skills across all levels.
  • Logical problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
  • A formal electrical qualification that supports multi-skilled status is desirable.
  • 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification would be beneficial.
