Salary: Β£44,001 to Β£60,501 per annum (plus benefits, including Company Car or Cash Allowance)

Role Overview

H9 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced DCS Engineer to lead the maintenance, development, and continuous improvement of a Yokogawa Distributed Control System (DCS) and associated site-wide control systems at a key operational facility. The role involves managing upgrades, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring control system reliability, security, and performance across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Yokogawa DCS and other control systems across the facility
  • Lead equipment and process upgrade projects
  • Diagnose and repair control system issues
  • Administer system access and safeguard logic security
  • Support auxiliary systems including turbine and emissions control
  • Maintain detailed records and backup system logic/modifications
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and external contractors
  • Stay informed of system updates and assess applicability
  • Develop and implement tools for process monitoring and performance enhancement

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Power, Paper, Cement, or Energy from Waste industries
  • Strong knowledge of control systems (ideally Yokogawa Centum VP and Exaquantum)
  • Proficient with PLCs, Siemens Simatic Step7, and industrial communication protocols
  • Project management experience (Microsoft Project preferred)
  • Experience using CMMS (ideally Q4), with emphasis on preventive/predictive maintenance
  • Self-driven, analytical, and solution-focused
