Quantity Surveyor – Energy Infrastructure

H9 Technical is inviting expressions of interest from Quantity Surveyors interested in upcoming opportunities across the UK energy and infrastructure market.
We are supporting organisations involved in renewable energy, power generation, energy-from-waste, grid infrastructure and major engineering projects. We would be interested in speaking with commercially minded Quantity Surveyors who have experience managing complex construction, engineering or energy contracts.
The Role
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Providing commercial support across energy and infrastructure projects
- Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering and contract awards
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and cost reports
- Identifying and managing variations, compensation events and contractual risks
- Supporting project teams with cost forecasting and commercial decision-making
- Managing subcontractor accounts through to final account
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and contract documentation
- Working closely with project managers, engineers, clients and supply-chain partners
- Supporting the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes
About You
We would like to hear from candidates with:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within energy, utilities, engineering, construction or infrastructure
- Working knowledge of NEC, JCT, IChemE or FIDIC contracts
- Experience managing subcontract packages and project costs
- Strong commercial awareness and contract-administration skills
- The ability to identify risk, protect contractual entitlement and communicate effectively with operational teams
- A degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- RICS or equivalent professional membership would be advantageous but is not essential
Experience within renewable energy, power generation, battery storage, grid connections, energy-from-waste or industrial EPC projects would be particularly relevant.
