H9 Talent Solutions are hiring for an Investment Director to work for our investment banking client to lead the origination, structuring, and execution of investments in renewable energy projects and platforms.
You will bring a strong background in renewable energy investment, project finance, or infrastructure private equity, with an established network across the energy transition ecosystem.
Origination & Strategy- Lead origination of new investment opportunities in renewables (solar, wind, storage, hybrid projects).
- Build and maintain relationships with developers, advisors, lenders, and co-investors.
- Assess market trends and regulatory developments to inform investment strategy.
- Identify opportunities for platform growth, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Oversee the evaluation, structuring, and execution of acquisitions, divestments, and capital raisings.
- Lead due diligence processes across technical, financial, legal, and commercial workstreams.
- Drive negotiation of key transaction documents (SPAs, shareholder agreements, financing contracts).
- Present investment recommendations to the Board / Investment Committee with robust analysis and risk assessment.
- Work with asset management teams to maximise portfolio performance and returns.
- Support refinancing, repowering, and other value-enhancing initiatives.
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance against financial and strategic targets.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the investment team, building sector expertise and transactional capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with development, finance, and operations teams to deliver integrated business growth.
- Represent the company externally at industry conferences, investor meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in renewable energy investment, infrastructure private equity, or project finance.
- Proven track record leading end-to-end transactions (origination, structuring, execution, closing).
- Deep knowledge of UK and European renewable markets, with exposure to both greenfield and brownfield assets.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Extensive negotiation experience with developers, lenders, and investors.
- Established industry network across developers, IPPs, banks, and advisors.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related discipline; MBA/CFA beneficial but not required.
