Overview
H9 Talent Solutions are hiring for a Head of Renewable Asset Management to lead the management of our clients growing renewable energy portfolio. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for maximising financial performance, ensuring compliance, and driving operational excellence across operating assets.
Role and Responsibilities
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the asset management function covering solar, wind, and storage assets across the UK and Europe.
- Define and execute the strategic asset management plan, aligning with investment objectives and ESG principles.
- Represent the asset management function in board and investment committee meetings.
- Commercial & Financial Management
- Oversee financial and operational performance of all assets, including revenues, costs, and budgets.
- Manage PPAs, grid agreements, offtake contracts, and O&M arrangements, ensuring optimal commercial terms.
- Lead forecasting, reporting, and investor communications on portfolio performance.
- Identify opportunities for value enhancement, such as repowering, hybridisation, or refinancing.
- Operational Oversight
- Manage day-to-day performance of assets via O&M contractors, service providers, and in-house teams.
- Oversee health & safety, compliance, and ESG reporting across the portfolio.
- Ensure technical performance is monitored and optimised using SCADA/data platforms.
- Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing asset management team.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with investment, development, and finance teams.
- Stakeholder & Counterparty Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key counterparties including grid operators, suppliers, regulators, and investors.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage disputes or performance issues when required.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or utilities, with at least 5 years in asset management.
- Proven leadership track record in managing a diverse renewable portfolio (solar, wind, storage).
- Strong commercial acumen, with direct experience managing PPAs, O&M, and financing structures.
- Deep understanding of UK and European energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and reporting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to manage external stakeholders and lead internal teams.
- Degree in engineering, finance, or related field (MBA or CFA beneficial but not essential).
