Appointed Person
Contract - Outside IR35
Location - North London
Rate - £500 per day - all in
H9 Talent Solutions have a requirement for an experienced Appointed Person (AP) to support a specialist subcontractor delivering the installation of structural steelwork and heavy mechanical equipment on a major new-build energy project.
Working closely with the site management team, you will take ownership of planning and coordinating complex lifting operations, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in compliance with current legislation and project procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce lift plans, RAMS and lifting documentation for routine and complex lifting operations.
- Plan and coordinate lifting activities associated with the installation of structural steel and heavy mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with LOLER, BS7121 and all site HSE requirements.
- Coordinate crane suppliers, lifting teams and subcontractors to ensure safe execution of works.
- Carry out site inspections, lift briefings and monitor lifting operations.
- Liaise with construction, engineering and HSE teams to resolve lifting and logistics challenges.
- Support safe delivery of the project programme while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
- CPCS Appointed Person (A61) or equivalent.
- Proven experience on large industrial, power generation, Energy from Waste, petrochemical or infrastructure projects.
- Strong background planning lifts for structural steel and heavy mechanical installation.
- Excellent knowledge of LOLER, BS7121 and lifting best practice.
- Ability to produce lift plans and supporting documentation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
