H9 Technical Recruitment

EHS Advisor

Employment Type: 12-Months +

Availability: Immediate

Position Location: Norfolk, UK

H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for a skilled EHS Advisor for a large scale on-shore energy infrastructure development in Norfolk.

Joining an established health and safety division, you will collaborate with Senior Safety Managers to oversee complex engineering and construction workflows. This position offers exposure across diverse disciplines—including civils, high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems, mechanical & electrical (M&E) installations, and green energy networks—making it an ideal fit for a safety professional accustomed to high-hazard environments.

The ideal candidate will adopt a collaborative, field-focused approach, partnering with site crews and principal contractors to elevate compliance and champion a proactive safety mindset.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver field-based health, safety, and environmental guidance to construction teams and project partners.
  • Interface directly with contractors to drive operational safety performance and adherence to standards.
  • Execute routine site audits, hazard inspections, and risk observations to mitigate project vulnerabilities.
  • Assess and refine Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) alongside safe systems of work.
  • Assist in rolling out corporate EHS policies, localized campaigns, and industry best practices.
  • Track contractor safety metrics and implement collaborative corrective actions where required.
  • Lead or contribute to site safety forums, briefings, and daily toolbox talks.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with internal project teams and supply chain partners.
  • Offer pragmatic, solution-oriented advice tailored to live site challenges rather than rigid policing.
  • Partner with leadership to sustain an active, positive, and behavioural-based safety culture.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated background as an EHS/HSE Advisor on major civil infrastructure, power generation, or utilities programmes.
  • Technical familiarity with heavy civils and multi-service M&E installation environments.
  • Practical experience navigating complex, high-risk, or safety-critical project sites.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or equivalent safety qualification).
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and gain respect from site-level personnel up to management.
