This is a senior, commercially focused position supporting major infrastructure and energy projects across multiple international markets. You will advise senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from tendering and contract negotiation through to execution, claims and dispute resolution.

The position would suit an experienced in-house lawyer or private-practice specialist who understands the commercial and legal complexities associated with major engineering, construction, power-generation or infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Advising senior business leaders on legal and contractual risks arising from international projects and commercial transactions
  • Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex agreements with customers, suppliers, sponsors, lenders and project partners
  • Supporting major project tenders, contract execution and long-term service or O&M arrangements
  • Developing and implementing strategies for high-value claims and disputes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Advising on joint ventures and other strategic commercial arrangements
  • Providing practical guidance on governance, regulatory and compliance matters
  • Supporting investigations and delivering compliance or legal training where required
  • Providing legal leadership and guidance to Contract Managers working across sales and project execution

What we are looking for:

  • A law degree and strong professional legal background; admission to a recognised Bar or legal jurisdiction would be advantageous
  • At least five years’ relevant experience gained within an international law firm, major engineering group or global project-based organisation
  • Strong experience within infrastructure, energy, power generation, waste management, industrial construction or another major-project environment
  • Demonstrable experience drafting and negotiating complex project agreements
  • Exposure to project tendering, execution-stage claims and dispute management
  • Experience with O&M or long-term service agreements would be particularly valuable
  • Excellent commercial judgement and the confidence to advise senior international stakeholders
  • Fluent English and the flexibility to travel internationally at short notice
  • German language capability would be advantageous but is not essential

Package and benefits:

  • Salary in the region of £120,000–£135,000, with potential flexibility for an exceptional candidate
  • 10% annual target bonus
  • Hybrid working from the Farnborough office
  • Employer pension contribution of up to 10%
  • Private medical and dental insurance
  • Life assurance at four times salary
  • Disability insurance
  • 24 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
  • The opportunity to work on complex international projects supporting the transition towards more sustainable energy and infrastructure
