H9 Talent Solutions are partnering with a leading renewable energy developer and independent power producer and hiring for a Director of Asset Management to lead the operational and commercial performance of a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets across the UK and Europe.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for maximising asset value across the full lifecycle from construction handover through operations and optimisation to refinancing and exit. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping asset strategy, driving performance improvements and supporting long term portfolio growth.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Define and implement asset management strategy across operational renewable energy assets (solar, wind, BESS and/or hybrid projects).
  • Drive optimisation initiatives to maximise revenue, availability and long term asset value.
  • Lead annual business planning, budgeting and long term financial forecasting.
  • Identify and execute value enhancement opportunities including repowering, hybridisation, and commercial optimisation.
Commercial & Financial Management
  • Oversee asset P&L performance and financial returns against investment cases.
  • Manage revenue strategies including PPAs, route to market agreements and merchant exposure.
  • Support refinancing processes, valuations and investor reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with finance teams on cashflow optimisation and performance analysis.
Operational Oversight
  • Manage O&M providers and key technical contractors, ensuring KPI delivery and contractual compliance.
  • Oversee operational risk management, asset performance monitoring and availability targets.
  • Ensure best practice HSE and regulatory compliance across the portfolio.
Stakeholder & Investor Management
  • Act as senior interface with investors, lenders, joint venture partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Lead asset reporting to investment committees and senior management.
  • Support M&A activities including operational due diligence and integration of acquired assets.
Leadership
  • Build and lead a high performing asset management team.
  • Establish scalable processes, governance frameworks, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with development, construction and investment teams.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or power asset management.
  • Proven track record managing operational renewable portfolios (IPP, developer, fund or utility background).
  • Strong commercial understanding of UK power markets and revenue structures.
  • Experience managing PPAs, O&M contracts and operational performance optimisation.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Strong financial and analytical capability with exposure to investment or financing processes.
  • Degree in engineering, finance, economics or related discipline (advanced degree desirable).
