H9 Talent Solutions are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, competent, and experienced Civil Estimator to join our client's estimating team at our Warrington Office in the North-West of England. This presents an opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading multi-discipline Civil Engineering and Building contractors. A market leading remuneration package will be available to the successful candidate, together with long-term opportunities and an excellent opportunity for future development & progression.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing a comprehensive estimating service controlling either an assigned project and/or a portfolio of projects.
  • Identifying potential risks from initial analysis of project documentation.
  • Preparing tender estimates from first principles using Conquest estimating software, drawing on previous experience and knowledge of techniques, outputs, sub-contractor quotations, and material prices unique to each tender.
  • Proactively leading and taking part in discussions and negotiations with suppliers and sub-contractors during the tender process.
  • Leading and participating in handover meetings with contract and commercial colleagues to ensure all elements of the tender process and procedures are handed over and project complexities are fully understood by all parties prior to signing of contract.
  • Keeping up to date knowledge of inflation, exchange rates, and projected timescale costs.
  • Forming bills of quantities from drawings take-offs, either by hand or from estimating software.
  • Ability to prioritise, manage and co-ordinate multiple tender opportunities in a constantly changing environment with minimal supervision.
  • High level of PC literacy with working knowledge of Conquest Series Q, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word & Project software.
  • Holding a CSCS Card.
  • Knowledge and experience of CESMM, SMM Methods of Measurement, production of activity schedules and population of contract sum analyses.
  • Ability to work independently utilising several standard forms of contract such as NEC/JCT and bespoke contracts.

A market leading annual salary will be on offer at commencement based on experience, with annual salary reviews moving forward. Company bonuses at the company’s discretion. Fully expensed Electric Company Car / Hybrid Car or personal car allowance if preferred. Company Pension scheme commencing at personal 5% + 5% Luddon contribution from date of joining the scheme, rising to 7% Luddon contribution at 5 years’ service. 35 days combined paid holidays per annum at commencement date. Company life insurance cover from date of joining the scheme (4 x salary death in service cover).
