An established UK contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex construction projects within regulated, safety-critical environments. This role offers full project ownership, overseeing HSEQ, commercial performance, programme delivery and project controls, while leading multidisciplinary teams on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage pre-mobilisation and pre-construction activities, including HSE Plans, Quality Plans, RAMS and ITPs
- Validate and control project budgets, reporting structures and cost forecasts
- Take full responsibility for Construction, HSEQ, Commercial and Project Controls functions
- Plan and monitor labour, supervision, plant and equipment deployment across work fronts
- Ensure methods of work remain compliant with company, client and statutory health & safety policies
- Set up, update and monitor project measures, schedules and earned value
- Identify, investigate and report budget or man-hour deviations on a weekly basis
- Manage drawing take-offs and control scope changes throughout the project lifecycle
- Track progress, record delays and provide cause & effect analysis to the client
- Prepare and submit early warnings and variations for out-of-scope works
- Lead client-facing communication, site meetings and internal project reviews
- Oversee project health & safety with support from the HSE function
- Work closely with commercial teams to prepare monthly applications and valuations
- Control project costs, labour mix, time & attendance and productivity
- Manage procurement, tender evaluation, subcontractor selection and close-out
- Prepare and administer multiple subcontract packages
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports across HSE, Commercial, Quality, Engineering and Construction
- Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff
- Ensure full compliance with all HSEQ policies and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years' construction experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, or a Degree Qualified Engineer with 10+ years' project-based experience
- Background in Oil & Gas, Power Generation or Heavy Industrial environments preferred
- Strong contractual and commercial awareness
- Excellent knowledge of project controls, estimating, planning and scheduling
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management capability
- Strong construction safety knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
