A major UK energy infrastructure business is hiring a commercially sharp, hungry Business Development Manager to originate and convert opportunities across Oil & Gas / LNG. This is a high-visibility role in a fast-moving environment, with real backing to win work and shape strategy.
You’ll combine relationship-led selling with commercial modelling and structured opportunity progression to build robust business cases and drive deals from idea to approval and execution.
What you’ll do:
- Identify, qualify and progress new O&G / LNG commercial opportunities (capacity, services, partnerships, contracts)
- Own the relationship cycle: prospecting → stakeholder mapping → proposals → negotiation → close
- Build and maintain Excel financial models (NPV/IRR, sensitivities, scenarios, price/volume assumptions)
- Develop investment cases and opportunity papers through a stage-gate / ORP-style framework
- Coordinate internal inputs (ops, engineering, legal, finance, HSSE) to shape solutions and de-risk delivery
- Track pipeline, forecast, and report on progress with clear next steps and conversion plans
What we’re looking for:
- Proven business development / commercial experience within Oil & Gas (essential) — LNG/midstream/terminals/storage is a strong advantage
- Strong track record of winning and negotiating commercial deals (not just account management)
- Comfortable building credible Excel models and explaining assumptions to senior stakeholders
- Confident communicator with excellent relationship skills (customer-facing, persuasive, resilient)
- Experience working to a structured opportunity / stage-gate process (Shell ORP, or similar) is highly desirable
Package: £80,000–£100,000 base salary + package (bonus/benefits dependent on experience)
