We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable E-Commerce Purchasing Manager. This role reports to the Commercial Director and offers an excellent opportunity to develop and implement a strong strategy in a market leading ecommerce business. This is a brand new role to the Company and will be interesting and rewarding. The E-Commerce Purchasing Manager will lead a small team of 6 well experienced and personable staff members. The team work a hybrid pattern, a mix of Winsford office and home locations. The successful candidate will be based fully on site moving on to one day at home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide your team by example.
- Work to best practice and set high standards.
- Set clear individual and departmental objectives for your team, monitor progress throughout the year.
- Hold Quarterly and Annual Review meetings with your team members.
- Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of the Company’s values, policies and mission.
- Manage stock availability by forecasting requirement.
- Maintain stock levels, minimising out of stocks and back orders.
- Set stocking policies by supplier/lead time category in line with business strategy.
- Source and negotiate new and existing products at competitive costs, terms and MOQs.
- Monitor currency, freight and duty changes.
- Consider these influences when implementing strategies.
- Develop positive relationships with suppliers and the wider business.
- Supplier performance management and quality standard checks.
- Onboard new suppliers.
- Represent the business at trade shows, as needed.
- Develop and grow the company’s own brand proposition with clear positioning, packaging compliance and cost architecture.
- Develop strong interdepartmental communications to improve clarity and function across the business.
- Align forecast, range architecture and buy plans with the commercial team; agree pricing expectations and understand margin, especially on own brand.
- Participate in regular trading/sales and operations meetings; ensure availability and margin outcomes are owned end-to-end.
- Work with the marketing team to ensure suitable product availability for campaigns.
- Provide relevant stock valuations to the Finance department.
- Utilise in house data and expertise to report on data, provide clear insights and propose actions for improvements.

Essential Skills Required:
- Proven experience in a similar purchasing management or senior buying role.
- Experience of team leadership: coaching, setting objectives, completing reviews and developing capability.
- Respectful leadership abilities and a natural relationship builder.
- Highly numerate, strong commercial maths ability.
- Advanced excel capabilities, confident with ERP and BI dashboards.
- Able to present concise trading updates.
- Strong IT literacy and Microsoft systems.
- Excellent eye for detail.
- Calm, organised and efficient.
- Able to prioritise to deadlines.
- Willing to travel to Winsford and Crewe, Cheshire.
- Willing to travel to trade shows in the UK.
- Occasional European travel.
Desirable Skills:
- CIPS level 4/5 or working towards.
- Previous experience with printer consumables, stationery, IT accessories, 3D tech.
- Experience of own brand development.
- Experience of recycling programmes.
- Knowledge of data quality for ecommerce.
- Compliance awareness.
- Interest in technology, 3D Printing and category developments.
