A rare and compelling opportunity to become the commercial cornerstone of one of the most exciting legal AI businesses in Europe. This is a Y Combinator-backed, AI-native legal services company that has already raised significant seed funding from a world-class investor base – including a leading early-stage VC and more than 20 unicorn founders – and is now ready to scale its go-to-market operation from the ground up in London. The founding team is exceptional: both co-founders bring together the rare combination of top-tier legal training and proven startup execution. The product is live, customers are generating real commercial outcomes, and the business has the institutional backing to go the distance. This is the founding commercial hire.
The Role: As Founding GTM Lead, you will own the entire commercial motion for the London market, working directly alongside the co-founders to build pipeline and close business from scratch. The majority of your time (~60%) will be devoted to high-volume outbound prospecting into in-house legal teams at venture-backed and mid-market companies. You will run discovery calls and own customer onboardings, build and manage your pipeline in CRM, and feed structured market intelligence back to the founders to sharpen the ICP and messaging. Over time, you will grow into a senior closing role and take ownership of the commercial function. This is not a traditional SDR seat – it is a founder-adjacent, partnership-level GTM position for someone with the legal credibility and commercial ambition to match the calibre of this team.
The Candidate: You will have 4–5 years of experience practicing commercial and/or technology law at a top-tier law firm (BigLaw or Magic Circle equivalent) or in a senior legal role at a renowned in-house technology company. Critically, you will also have founder or commercial sales experience – ideally within a legal technology or legal services business – that demonstrates you can operate beyond the traditional legal function and drive revenue. A JD from a T14 law school (or international equivalent at the highest tier) is strongly preferred. The ideal profile blends elite legal training, BigLaw or in-house tech pedigree, and hands-on experience building or selling a legaltech product. You will be a genuine peer to senior legal buyers – General Counsel, Deputy GC, VP Legal – with the credibility and gravitas to command their attention and their trust. You understand how in-house legal teams think, what keeps them up at night, and how to position a product that meaningfully reduces their burden. You are energetic, likeable and client-facing by nature, not a script-reader. You are London-based and ready to work in-office.
The Package: On offer is a base salary of £70,000–£120,000 with an OTE of £180,000–£220,000, plus meaningful equity in a YC-backed business at the seed stage. The compensation reflects the seniority and calibre of candidate the founders are looking for, and there is significant flexibility for the right person. This is a genuinely rare combination: elite backing, exceptional founders, a product with proven traction, and a comp package that matches the ambition of the role.
