A rare opportunity to be the first commercial hire at a Y Combinator-backed AI infrastructure company that has invented an entirely new software category – and is already winning in it. With revenue growing 10x in under a year and 20% month-on-month growth, this business is post product-market fit and moving fast. The company has raised a multi-million seed round, counts enterprise names including a top-3 US bank and a Fortune 10 company among its early adopters, and holds a 90%+ win rate in competitive bake-offs. The founding CEO brings a track record of scaling revenue programmes to hundreds of millions at household-name tech companies. This is not a role for someone who needs a long ramp. It is a role for someone who wants to own the entire commercial motion from day one and build the playbook that the next wave of hires will scale.
The Role: As GTM Engineer, you will own the full customer journey – from outbound pipeline generation through to close, onboarding and expansion. This is deliberately not a split SDR/AE motion; you will hold the entire relationship and cycle end-to-end. You will run discovery calls and demos with CTOs, VPs of AI and engineering leaders without SE support, leverage AI-native tooling (Claude Code, Cursor, MCPs, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) to build and automate your outbound motion, and feed tight feedback loops directly into product and engineering. You will also build and refine the repeatable GTM playbooks and systems that future hires will inherit. You report directly to the CEO.
The Candidate: The hiring team are deliberately open on background. What matters is output, agency and learning velocity – not title, quota history or years of experience. A typical profiles are actively encouraged: ex-founders, forward-deployed engineers, chiefs of staff, technical SDRs and operators who have pivoted into GTM. The non-negotiables are:
- 2–5 years in a full-cycle, customer-facing B2B role (GTM, technical sales, FDE, startup operations or equivalent)
- Personal ownership of at least three stages of a sales cycle – outbound, discovery, demo, pilot scoping, close, onboarding or expansion
- Native fluency with AI tools – Claude Code, Cursor and MCPs must be daily drivers, not something you have heard of
- Ability to hold a technical conversation with a CTO on LLM behaviour and voice agent failure modes without deferring to engineering
- High agency – you have founded something, owned a segment from scratch, or started something material without being asked
- Comfortable contributing immediately – candidates expecting a 1–2 month shadow period are not the right fit
- Familiarity with voice AI stacks (telephony, STT/TTS, LLM orchestration) or experience selling into healthcare or financial services is a nice-to-have but not required.
The Package: Base salary of $120,000–$180,000 depending on experience and location, with a meaningful equity stake (up to 0.6%) in a company at a genuinely early stage. Fully remote (US or UK-based), with hubs in Austin, TX and London, and approximately 20% travel for conferences and customer on-sites. Visa sponsorship is not available.
