King Group is seeking a proactive and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at King Trailers in Market Harborough. Reporting to the Production Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the shop floor team, ensuring production output, quality, and safety targets are consistently achieved. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands‑on supervisory role and is passionate about continuous improvement, teamwork, and delivering high standards of workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop the production team to achieve departmental goals.
- Manage workflow, labour allocation, and daily production targets.
- Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
- Interpret technical drawings and support weld quality coordination.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Monitor hours worked, taking proactive steps to prevent overruns and non‑productive time.
- Liaise with quality and engineering teams to minimise rework and champion a right‑first‑time approach.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring compliance and encouraging best practice.
- Compile production reports and provide regular performance updates to management.
- Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of all production equipment.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Strong knowledge of MIG/TIG welding and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Experience within the trailer manufacturing industry.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and quality standards.
