The chance to use your technical knowledge to help global researchers. Excellent training provided. Some exciting international travel opportunities.

The benefits of precision temperature and environmental control for microscopy speak for themselves – this equipment lets researchers see how materials behave under real-world conditions, used by many of the most prestigious research institutes and universities around the world.

You’d be part of a well-established, family-run business, and despite working with such a global customer base, they’ve held on to what makes them different: friendly, supportive management, a close team, and a happy, down-to-earth place to come to work.

As part of their growth plans, they are looking for someone to become the first point of contact for customers - the person they turn to with questions, and the person who helps them get the most out of the products.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be liaising directly with the scientists and researchers performing Raman, FTIR, X-ray diffraction, and general optical microscopy.
  • It’ll be your job to understand what they need and help shape the right solution for them.
  • No two days will look the same - one moment you might be talking a customer through a technical query, the next you’re following up on an enquiry, training a distributor, or gathering market insight that feeds back into the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • A degree in a relevant scientific or technical field such as engineering or physics.
  • A couple of years’ experience in technical sales.
  • A scientific mind, an inquisitive nature, and a genuine love of talking to people - this role rewards curiosity as much as it does commercial instinct.
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

Why join us:

  • A warm, supportive, family feel - not a corporate office.
  • Real investment in your development, with plenty of room to grow into different parts of the business.
  • A bit of travel to interesting places along the way, without a relentless target-chasing culture.
  • Your first six months will be spent working closely with our production and technical teams, so you really understand the products before you’re out talking to customers about them, before moving to flexible/hybrid working.
