We're looking for someone with:
- A knack for building genuine relationships with suppliers
- A sharp eye for detail
- A can-do attitude that makes an SME tick
In this role, you'll take ownership of purchase orders from start to finish, including:
- Chasing deliveries
- Liaising with suppliers
- Stepping in when timelines need a nudge
You will be the friendly, persistent voice on the phone that gets things moving, as suppliers tend to respond better to people they like working with. As you grow into the role, there is real scope to get involved in:
- Supplier performance
- KPIs
- Process improvements
This isn't a job where you'll be stuck behind a desk all day. It’s a close-knit team, so when things get busy, everyone mucks in, whether that's helping pack a delivery crate or covering reception for ten minutes. If you like variety and don't mind rolling your sleeves up, you'll fit right in.
Responsibilities include:
- Raising purchase orders and managing them through to delivery
- Updating and maintaining all purchasing records and data within the ERP
- Building relationships with suppliers to ensure a good working relationship and monitoring supplier performance
- Looking for opportunities to improve the supply chain
- Working closely with other members of the department, including production planning and the wider supply chain team
The Candidate:
- Experience raising orders and managing suppliers (any industry – manufacturing, planning, procurement or supply chain backgrounds all welcome)
- Comfortable using an ERP/MRP system
- Solid Excel skills
- A natural relationship-builder who's happy to pick up the phone
- An SME mindset: flexible, proactive, and happy to help wherever needed
