We're looking for a detail-focused Estimating Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business, preparing accurate and commercially competitive quotations for customers across a range of engineering and subcontract manufacturing projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for reviewing customer enquiries, technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing feasibility and produce robust, well-costed quotations. You'll work closely with the Sales team and other departments to ensure customer requirements are fully understood and reflected accurately in every quote.

The role:

  • Managing the estimating process from enquiry through to quotation submission
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications to assess manufacturability
  • Preparing quotations covering materials, processes, tooling, finishing, inspection and subcontract costs
  • Issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to approved suppliers and incorporating returned costs into customer quotes
  • Maintaining accurate supplier pricing and estimating data
  • Supporting New Product Introduction with cost estimates, Bills of Materials and manufacturing routings
  • Maintaining accurate records within the company's ERP system
  • Occasionally joining customer meetings alongside the Sales team
