A leading heavy industrial manufacturer is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its maintenance and engineering team. This is a critical hands-on role within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment offering long-term stability and investment in both plant and people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform planned preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of heavy industrial machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across equipment including conveyors, hydraulic systems, gearboxes, pumps and bearings.
- Support the installation and commissioning of machinery and capital upgrades.
- Collaborate with production, engineering and reliability teams to maximise machine uptime and performance.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Time-served or NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualified in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a heavy manufacturing, processing or engineering environment.
- Confident working with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and rotating equipment.
- A proactive approach to safety, reliability and root-cause problem solving.
- Able to work independently and as part of a structured engineering team.
