H-Seventeen are recruiting on behalf of a global leader in food processing and automated production machinery. Due to increased project demand and international installations, they require an experienced Installation and Commissioning Engineer on a contract basis to support customer site projects across multiple regions. This is a hands-on delivery role, ideal for an engineer who can confidently install, commission, fault-find and get automated equipment running efficiently under tight deadlines.
Contract Scope / Key Deliverables
- Installing and commissioning automated food production machinery at customer sites worldwide
- Completing electrical and mechanical installation, setup, calibration and performance testing
- Troubleshooting electrical, PLC and automation faults during installation and start-up
- Supporting SAT (Site Acceptance Testing), ramp-up, and handover to production teams
- Producing clear commissioning documentation, site reports and progress updates
- Working closely with project teams, OEM support, and customer engineering teams
- Providing a high standard of customer-facing support and representing the business professionally onsite
Required Experience
- Proven track record in installation and commissioning of food production / processing equipment (or similar automated machinery)
- Strong electrical ability: fault finding, wiring, testing, diagnostics
- Solid PLC/controls understanding (supporting commissioning and troubleshooting)
- Strong mechanical competence: assembly, alignment, automation / production line integration
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Engineering qualification (NVQ / ONC / HNC or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods (3 days 4 weeks per trip)
