We are recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a well-established fresh food manufacturing business. This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for leading a team of around 30 production staff within a busy fresh food processing environment. The successful candidate will report directly to the Production Manager and will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely and to the required standards.

The Role:

  • Supervising and supporting a team of around 30 production staff
  • Planning daily production activity and ensuring targets are met
  • Carrying out activity mapping to improve efficiency and workflow
  • Managing stock control and ensuring materials are available for production
  • Supporting staff reviews, performance management and disciplinaries where required
  • Ensuring all staff follow company procedures and health & safety standards
  • Monitoring productivity, quality and attendance across the team
  • Working closely with the Production Manager and wider management team
  • Using IT systems to record, update and manage production information
  • Promoting a positive, organised and productive working environment

The Candidate:

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory experience within a fresh food, food manufacturing or food processing environment. You will need to be confident managing people, comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting and able to make decisions to keep production running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or Shift Supervisor
  • Experience within fresh food, food manufacturing or food processing
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience with production planning, labour planning or activity mapping
  • Good IT skills
  • Understanding of stock control
  • Confidence dealing with reviews, performance issues and disciplinaries
  • Strong awareness of health & safety within a production environment
  • A flexible approach to working days, including weekends
