The Shift Pattern:
This role operates a rotating 12-hour days and nights shift pattern.
Days: During the first week of the days rotation, you will work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. During the second week, you will work Wednesday and Thursday only, again from 6:00am to 6:00pm, with the remaining five days off.
Nights: During the first week of the nights rotation, you will work Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00pm to 6:00am. During the second week, you will work Wednesday and Thursday only, from 6:00pm to 6:00am, with the remaining five days off. The rotation then returns to days, providing regular blocks of time off throughout the year.
The Role:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant, production equipment, services and site assets to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across site equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
- Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Minimise downtime through effective fault finding and problem solving
- Maintain engineering systems and CMMS records
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety and environmental standards
- Support production teams to maximise operational performance
- Participate in shift handovers and engineering meetings
- Maintain GMP and quality standards across the site
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers and internal departments when required
The Person We're Looking for Someone With:
- Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role
- Strong electrical fault-finding skills
- FMCG, food manufacturing or wider manufacturing experience
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of issues
- Experience using CMMS systems (desirable)
- A practical approach to balancing reactive and planned maintenance
Essential Qualification You Must Have One Of The Following:
- Recognised Level 3 Engineering Qualification
- GNVQ or equivalent engineering qualification
- Electrical qualification
- Relevant engineering degree
