Deersbrook Farm are now recruiting. We are expanding our butchery and farm shop with a new butchers kitchen. We're looking for a skillful, creative butcher with a passion for curing, cooking and butchery. Training can be provided on site. We are looking for full time and part time applicants to work in the main butchery and/or butchery kitchen.

Deersbrook Farm are looking for a passionate, highly motivated and experienced butcher to join our on-farm butchery and farm shop. The butchery is growing and we are excited to recruit a skillful butcher with experience in curing and cooking (although training for these can be provided). An excellent understanding and knowledge of the trade is essential.

Requirements:

  • Skilled butcher with cutting, boning and knife skills
  • Commitment to operating and maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene
  • Demonstrated history of working on your own initiative
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

Applicant:

  • Experience in full carcass butchery is essential
  • Sausage making
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Very good English
  • Numeric skills and be literate
  • Computer literacy would be an advantage
  • Professional approach to health and hygiene
  • Responsible individual with commitment to their work
  • Friendly, reliable, honest, trustworthy, ready to learn and work
  • Full driving license due to location
  • Physical dexterity as this is a physically demanding job and involves heavy lifting
