Using ammonia to produce low-carbon hydrogen at the point of need, and fuel cells to convert it into reliable, off-grid power, H-Power offers a scalable, practical alternative to fossil fuels, serving construction, infrastructure, transport and power generation sectors. Behind the technology is a team driven by a shared purpose: to accelerate the shift away from fossil fuels.

H-Power is seeking a skilled Fabrication Technician to join the Prototype Machining team. You'll play a key role in the build of complex mechanical systems, supporting prototype development, fabrication activities, facilities projects and the installation of technical hardware across the business. This role would suit an experienced mechanical build technician, fitter or fabricator who enjoys working hands-on with complex systems, solving practical engineering challenges and taking ownership of projects from concept through to installation.

  • Building complex tube, pipe and valve assemblies using compression fitting systems
  • Installing piping systems, mechanical hardware and associated infrastructure to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Supporting prototype builds, development projects and machine shop activities
  • Fabricating small brackets, supports, fixtures and related components
  • Following work instructions whilst using initiative to progress tasks and resolve practical build challenges
  • Maintaining high health & safety standards, including COSHH and risk assessment compliance
  • Ordering consumables and supporting efficient management of build materials
  • Identifying and resolving build issues, feeding back improvements to the Engineering Team
  • Supporting facilities upgrades, workshop improvements and infrastructure installation projects

We’re keen to speak with people with experience in:

  • Extensive hands-on experience building complex mechanical systems independently
  • Tube, pipe and valve assembly within engineering, manufacturing or technical environments
  • Compression fitting systems (Swagelok, Parker, Fitok or similar)
  • Mechanical fitting, fabrication and installation work
  • Building prototype equipment, process systems, test rigs or technical infrastructure
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Fabricating brackets, supports and small mechanical components
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills within workshop or engineering build environments
  • Safe working practices including COSHH, risk assessments and workshop/site safety awareness
  • Basic turning and milling experience (desirable but not essential)

Package & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance bonus scheme
  • Company Share Option Scheme
  • Bupa private healthcare
  • Contributory pension
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Life insurance
