Using ammonia to produce low-carbon hydrogen at the point of need, and fuel cells to convert it into reliable, off-grid power, H-Power offers a scalable, practical alternative to fossil fuels, serving construction, infrastructure, transport and power generation sectors.
H-Power is looking for a Head of Manufacturing to lead the transition of its advanced energy technologies from development into scalable, repeatable production. This is a key leadership role within the business, responsible for bridging the gap between engineering, operations, quality and supply chain, ensuring products can be manufactured safely, efficiently and cost-effectively as H-Power continues its growth journey.
You will take ownership of manufacturing strategy, industrialisation, supplier development and production readiness across H-Power's ammonia cracking, hydrogen generation and fuel cell technologies.
- Leading the development and implementation of manufacturing processes for advanced energy systems
- Driving the transition of products from R&D and prototype builds into pilot and production environments
- Establishing manufacturing strategies that support scale, quality, cost and operational performance
- Leading manufacturability assessments and Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities across new product development programmes
- Developing manufacturing documentation including process flows, SOPs, work instructions and quality controls
- Supporting manufacturing audits, process validation activities and production readiness reviews
- Building and managing relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturing partners
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality and waste reduction
- Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Project teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve performance
- Leading and developing the Manufacturing Engineering team while supporting future growth of the function
- Supporting the introduction of new manufacturing technologies, processes and production capabilities
- Manufacturing engineering, industrialisation or production development within complex engineering environments
- Taking products from prototype through to production and scale-up
- Manufacturing process design, production readiness and operational improvement
- Design for Manufacture (DFM), New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing validation activities
- Supplier development, contract manufacturing and make-versus-buy decision making
- Leading engineering or manufacturing teams within growing or evolving businesses
- Working across engineering, operations, quality and supply chain functions
- Delivering manufacturing capability within highly regulated or technically complex industries
- Experience within hydrogen, fuel cells, energy systems or industrial process equipment
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience within sectors such as clean energy, aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, process engineering or advanced manufacturing
