The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team in London. This role offers excellent exposure across core finance functions, supporting the Financial Controller in the day-to-day running of the finance department. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with demonstrable experience in a finance or accounts environment who is keen to develop their career and build towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA).
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Run aged debtor reports and ensure cash is correctly allocated
- Support weekly BACS and international payment runs
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations (GBP and USD)
- Assist with month-end close activities and reporting
- Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond to supplier/internal queries
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Support ongoing improvements to finance processes and controls
- Provide general administrative and ad hoc support to the finance team
About You
- 1–3 years’ experience in a finance or accounts role
- Currently studying or interested in studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA
- Strong Excel skills (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team
Desirable:
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Exposure to systems such as Salesforce or similar CRM/ERP
