We have a vacancy for a plant fitter to join our busy team based out of our Strood Depot. You will be mainly working remotely on our customer sites, but also assisting at the depot as required. You will attend breakdowns and will be servicing, maintaining and repairing plant, including excavators, dumpers, ride on rollers, telehandlers and attachments as directed by our experienced service manager. You will need to ensure the equipment is supplied and maintained to the highest possible standards expected by both customers and the company. Most of our plant is under 3 years old with a high percentage less than 1 or 2 years old.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy plant and equipment to include excavators 1.5T to 50T, specialised long reach excavators, dumpers, dump trucks, rollers, telehandlers and various attachments such as breakers, grabs and shears.
- Investigating, diagnosing and repairing machine faults.
- Carrying out pre and post hire checks.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Solid experience of working with heavy construction plant and equipment.
- Ability to investigate/diagnose technical faults.
- Work to high standards, with an attention to detail.
- Welding.
- Ability to build good working relationships with depot personnel and customers.
- Full driving licence and CSCS card.
- Own tools.
