As the Global Communications Manager within the Business Unit (BU) High Voltage Products, you are a senior member of the communications team responsible for leading the external and internal communications programs across a newly created Global Product Groups (GPG), called Circuit-Breakers. This is a global role as your stakeholder groups are based all over the world, and you are expected to maximize visibility and support execution of business strategy, thereby contributing to improving market position, reputation and customer retention. You are also responsible for ensuring executional excellence in all communications measures for the global business and support business management in all communications matters. You will report directly to the Head of Communications for Global BU High Voltage Products. You will provide primary support to the GPG Circuit Breakers while playing an active part in the wide HV Comms team. You will also contribute across HV Comms team priorities offering support wherever your skills add value - this may be across different comms disciplines or functions.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop and coordinate integrated communication plans, budgets and processes in close collaboration with the GPG and Functions and in alignment with business priorities.
- Build content strategies, plans, and assets, including messaging, positioning, thought leadership, and storytelling across the full range of channels.
- Provide strategic and communication support regarding introduction of new technologies/new product launches.
- Act as brand ambassador for the BU, working closely with respective functions and workstreams leads to ensure coordination and brand compliance.
- Support leaders in communications activities, as needed.
- Actively drive communications efforts around events (Hitachi Energy events, industry events, webinars).
- Take ownership of internal and employee communications including messaging, internal websites, stories, organization announcements, newsletters, etc.
- Develop media relations campaigns and produce content through editorials, press releases, trade media stories, features blogs, and social media posts.
- Provide communications support to hubs within the Business Unit and to the Global Head Communications for the Business Unit.
- Build and maintain close collaboration with peers and key stakeholders across the Global Product Group, Business Unit and corporate level.
- Work in compliance with the Hitachi Energy SCM rules and governance.
- Manage third-party suppliers to maximize cost efficiency and minimize overlaps in the Business Unit.
- Ensure execution excellence in line with the BU messaging and positioning and corporate identity/corporate design guidelines.
- Measure communications campaign outcomes: strive for continuous improvement, document lessons learned, and suggest changes.
- Manage resources for key campaigns in INOPC.
Background:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant in‑house or agency communications experience with proven track record, and an interest in technology and sustainability.
- Strategic, analytical, and creative thinking combined with hands‑on approach to translate plans to actions and monitor progress.
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to simplify very complex information quickly.
- Cross functional communication skills (i.e. internal, external, media, digital, crisis, marketing communications).
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a remote global team.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills to manage competing projects and priorities.
- Proactive, result‑oriented with strong networking and communications skills.
- Business knowledge in power/industrial technology an advantage.
- International experience an advantage.
- Fluency in English - both spoken and written to native level.
