Cardiem is a well-established UK manufacturer of innovative Merchandising and Display solutions with over 30 years experience helping many well-known brands and retailers develop their merchandising and display ideas into working solutions. We are one of the UKs leading designers and manufacturers of retail display solutions. All produced inhouse over our extensive manufacturing facilities within the UK at Stockport & Halifax.

Our Stockport division is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Purchaser to join our Operations team, they will work with our Factory Manager to carry out all our purchasing requirements. The main purpose of job is to manage supplier relationships and maintain accurate data to ensure smooth purchasing and costing operations whilst providing accurate management reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routinely run various ERP systems and process information accurately for management reports and KPIs.
  • Send out requests for quotations as per operational requirements
  • Continue good supplier relationships and manage all procurement communications both internally and externally.
  • Maintain all procurement databases to ensure all required information is current.
  • Manage all purchasing queries to ensure business continuity.
  • Input and update Bill of Materials
  • Uphold ethical business practices, maintaining the highest standard of integrity in all business relationships.

Support with Health & Safety Admin

Provide support for annual stock take

Essential Skills

  • Experienced in MRP systems
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, ).
  • Proficient in reporting, (Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools)
  • You pride yourself as being flexible, reliable and confident working independently or as part of a team
  • You are experienced in communicating with people at all levels and building strong working relationships
  • Capable of working to tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Skills

You have previous experience in procurement of the steel, wood or fabrication industry

An ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately

Proven experience in Cost Estimation would be beneficial

Experience in administering yearly Stocktake schedules

You have a good understanding of the principles of Sustainable Procurement
