Role Overview

We are looking for a passionate Product Manager who will act as the film specialist for our soft‑goods adhesive solutions. You will own commercial success of film‑based bonding technologies used in electronics - specifically for keyboard assemblies, phone case lamination, wearable bands, and other flexible substrates. You will bridge R&D, manufacturing, and sales to deliver turnkey film solutions that meet mechanical, optical, and reliability requirements of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Work closely with design and process engineers at top consumer electronics brands or EMS providers to understand their lamination, die‑cutting, and assembly challenges, and propose tailored film solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the in‑house expert on film adhesion, peel strength, creep resistance, and environmental reliability (temperature/humidity cycling, chemical resistance) for soft substrates (silicone, TPU, PC, PET, leather, textiles).
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D to define product specifications, with quality to set testing protocols, and with supply chain to ensure raw material availability and cost targets.
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence: Monitor competitors' film offerings, analyze cost/performance gaps, and identify new application trends (e.g., foldable displays, smart wearables, sustainable materials).
  • Commercialization: Lead new product introduction (NPI) from concept to mass production, including sample management, reliability testing, and production ramp support.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years in product management, technical marketing, or application engineering within the adhesive/film/tapes industry, with at least 3 years focused on consumer electronics or flexible substrates.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of polyurethane silicone, water‑based adhesives, and film coating/die‑cutting processes. Familiarity with bonding to low‑surface‑energy materials (e.g., silicone, PP, TPU) and surface treatment techniques (plasma, corona).
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, customer‑facing presence, data‑driven decision‑making, and project management skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in English for both internal and external customers' communication.
  • Preferred (Nice‑to‑Have): Experience with heat activated films, pressure‑sensitive transfer tapes, or UV‑curable films. Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and FMEA. Proven track record of launching products for top consumer electronics customers.
