We are looking for a passionate Product Manager who will act as the film specialist for our soft-goods adhesive solutions. You will own commercial success of film-based bonding technologies used in electronics - specifically for keyboard assemblies, phone case lamination, wearable bands, and other flexible substrates. You will bridge R&D, manufacturing, and sales to deliver turnkey film solutions that meet mechanical, optical, and reliability requirements of our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with design and process engineers at top consumer electronics brands or EMS providers to understand their lamination, die-cutting, and assembly challenges, and propose tailored film solutions.
- Technical Leadership: Act as the in-house expert on film adhesion, peel strength, creep resistance, and environmental reliability (temperature/humidity cycling, chemical resistance) for soft substrates (silicone, TPU, PC, PET, leather, textiles).
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with R&D to define product specifications, with quality to set testing protocols, and with supply chain to ensure raw material availability and cost targets.
- Competitive & Market Intelligence: Monitor competitors' film offerings, analyze cost/performance gaps, and identify new application trends (e.g., foldable displays, smart wearables, sustainable materials).
- Commercialization: Lead new product introduction (NPI) from concept to mass production, including sample management, reliability testing, and production ramp support.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years in product management, technical marketing, or application engineering within the adhesive/film/tapes industry, with at least 3 years focused on consumer electronics or flexible substrates.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of polyurethane silicone, water-based adhesives, and film coating/die-cutting processes. Familiarity with bonding to low-surface-energy materials (e.g., silicone, PP, TPU) and surface treatment techniques (plasma, corona).
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, customer-facing presence, data-driven decision-making, and project management skills.
- Languages: Fluent in English for both internal and external customers' communication.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with heat activated films, pressure-sensitive transfer tapes, or UV-curable films.
- Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and FMEA.
- Proven track record of launching products for top consumer electronics customers.
