The Senior Production Operative – PM Shift supports the Production Team Leader in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient production operations. Acting as a technical expert and role model on shift, the role focuses on maintaining high standards across production, quality, and EHS compliance, while supporting effective communication and shift coordination. This position does not carry formal people-management responsibility but provides operational guidance and mentorship through experience and example.
Responsibilities
- Support the Production Team Leader with shift administration, SAP transactions, and production coordination
- Deliver effective shift handovers to ensure continuity between PM and incoming shifts
- Support start-of-shift meetings by communicating priorities, safety messages, and production focus
- Participate in short interval control discussions, escalating issues where required
- Act as a role model for safety, quality, and standard work practices
- Carry out quality checks on labels, packaging, and finished goods in line with site procedures
- Support waste reduction and efficiency improvements while maintaining product quality
- Report on EHS concerns, near misses, and accidents in line with company procedures
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are kept clean and organized
- Secure and lock the site at the end of the PM shift in accordance with security requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Good level of maths and English
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office
- Relevant experience within a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety regulations, and quality procedures
- Willingness and flexibility to work shifts to meet business needs
Preferred Requirements
- Counterbalance FLT certification
- First Aid certification
- Previous experience in a production background
- Previous experience supervising a team of operatives
