Position Overview

A Decant Packer is responsible for decanting bulk stock into smaller units and repackaging items for storage, picking, or distribution within a warehouse. The role supports efficient inventory flow by ensuring products are correctly transferred, labelled, and prepared according to operational requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be able to handle (pack, stack, palletise etc) safely containers weighing a minimum of 8kg and up to 25kg
  • Labelling containers and pallets as required by the product specification
  • Always ensuring the correct PPE is used including gloves, masks, safety shoes, eye protection etc
  • Be able to use lifting and handling equipment including drum changers and pallet trucks (hand and powered)
  • Maintain an excellent standard of housekeeping during production and at the end of shift
  • Setting up and running a variety of decanting stations in SDA and SDA Flam including:
    • IBC and drum changes (removing connectors, safely draining pipes and re-connecting next IBC etc.)
    • Scales to ensure correct weight control
    • Correct pump speeds
  • Understanding and implementing production documentation including production works orders, bills of materials, pack codes, single point lessons, labelling requirements
  • Ensuring that production works orders are completed according to the standard time and production plan.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Basic literacy & numeracy skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliability & punctuality
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work on a machine alone
  • Ability to carry out manual handling tasks

Preferred Requirements:

  • SAP knowledge
  • Experience with fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to move to different (similar) jobs/areas when required
  • Proactive & using own initiative
