Position Overview
The Production Operator I supports safe and efficient manufacturing by operating production equipment and performing material preparation, packaging, and basic quality checks. This role helps ensure products meet required specifications and are processed in line with H.B. Fuller standards. The position works as part of a team to maintain smooth operations and uphold safety and housekeeping expectations during each shift.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare raw materials and packaging, ensuring correct quantities and transporting them to designated production areas
- Operate processing equipment according to instructions and standard procedures
- Monitor equipment performance and maintain desired run rates
- Complete initial product testing to verify compliance with specifications
- Check labels and packaging materials to ensure correct application and documentation
- Package finished products following instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with housekeeping requirements
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager/Supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Basic level of education (UK equivalent; no high school requirement stated)
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety guidelines, and quality procedures
- Basic knowledge of common software (e.g., MS Office)
- Willingness and availability to work 6pm–6am shift pattern
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, lifting, and manual handling
- Good English communication skills
Preferred Requirements
- 1 year of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with production processes or machine operation
- Experience working in environments where safety and quality procedures are strictly followed
